Program Information

Our Agents of Comedy in CIA (Chicago Improv Associates) are here to recruit some new comedy agents through fast-paced, spontaneous improv games, scenes and songs! As a member of the audience tonight, you are considered an applicant for one of our new Agent slots. Don?t worry, our agents are very well trained and will make you look and feel like a million bucks if you are chosen for further interrogation on stage.

About The Performers 

Nancy Howland Walker is a SAG/AFTRA actor, writer, teacher, and trainer. She has performed thousands of comedy shows for businesses, schools and theaters, and leads trainings for major corporations on creativity, team building, and communication. Nancy runs international workshops and master classes for Second City on musical improv - her book Instant Songwriting: Musical Improv from Dunce to Diva is available on Amazon. (Nancy recently Played Sugar Lee Tompkins in the Stage Door?s production of the Hallelujah Girls)

Marshall Stern is a professional Actor/Musician specializing in live theatre and improvisational comedy. In Nashville (where he worked as a pro songwriter), he created and directed award-winning improv troupes and received the Ruth Sweet Award for excellence in theater education. In Chicago, Marshall was Director of Players Workshop of the Second City and Artistic Director of the Comedy Shrine. Favorite roles include Ebenezer Scrooge and Otto Frank (Diary of Anne Frank) for The Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Chicagoland. (And of course now as Bobby       Dwayne Delahunt in The Stage Door Theater?s production of the Hallelujah Girls)

Songs and Stories

Mime and Clown- Whether stage or strolling, Mat engages the audience with a gift for comedy, mimicry and silent 
acting reminiscent of great mimes and physical comedians like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Red Skelton.

Music and Singing- Deb plays acoustic guitar and clawhammer style banjo. She sings (with a warm and beautiful 
voice) songs in the styles of folk, gospel and oldies rock 'n' roll.

Juggling and Acrobatics- Mat tosses, balances, and spins a variety of objects and includes acrobatic skills (like 
walking on his hands) in a juggling show that will both excite and amuse an audience of any age.

Storytelling- Whether its Deb singing (with Mat miming) "The Ballad of John Henry" or Mat giving a rip roaring 
recitation of "Casey at the Bat" or telling a revisioned old folktale like his "Jack and the Beanbags" (which he magically

Stage Door Players Youth Drama Is Back! But this year it is even bigger and better with two Saturdays a month, some amazing guest speakers and instructors! Are you ready to experience theater like never before! We are ready for you to join us! Program includes hands on in the areas of costumes, set design, lighting, sound, juggling, and much more! Lunch is also provided! Great prizes and awards are also in the forecast!

We will be doing the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month 10am to 12pm. 
First session will be Saturday September 1st at 10am. 
For middle school aged and above
And this is Free for all youth!
